Em 2023, nossa filha Manuela tomou uma iniciativa que iluminou nossa casa e, pouco a pouco, alcançou lugares que jamais imaginávamos.
Movida pelo desejo de contribuir, ela começou a dar aulas de inglês on-line para crianças no Brasil e criou o projeto “Brazil with an S”, uma ponte que conecta jovens bilíngues a crianças e adolescentes que sonham em aprender inglês.
O gesto era simples: encontrar pessoas dispostas a aprender e ensinar, e conectar todas elas. Ação de compartilhar conhecimento para abrir caminhos e crescer juntos.
Logo nosso filho Lucas abraçou a ideia. Vieram os amigos e os amigos dos amigos. Em pouco tempo, a semente virou uma floresta. Hoje, o projeto reúne professores e alunos espalhados pelo Brasil e pelo mundo, em encontros semanais que ultrapassam o aprendizado do idioma e se transformam em vínculos afetivos reais.
Histórias comoventes nos tocam desde então. Como a da Júlia, que começou a dar aula aos 14 anos para uma jovem da mesma idade. Há três anos, toda semana, elas se encontram através da tela. Uma nunca pisou no Brasil; a outra nunca saiu dele. Mas as duas, hoje com 17 anos, encontraram por meio das aulas, amizade, alegria, escuta, coragem e pertencimento nesse encontro.
Acompanhando essas histórias, compreendemos algo essencial: o amor se manifesta através dos nossos movimentos e ações.
Amar não é uma ideia abstrata, é gesto,
é escolha, é presença.
Amar o próximo é um exercício real de afirmação do valor da vida, uma forma concreta de dizer: “a sua existência tem valor, e eu me importo.”
É isso que dá sentido à nossa
passagem pelo mundo.
Por isso, nesta celebração dos nossos 25 anos de casamento, sentimos que o maior presente é lançar sementes para o futuro que desejamos viver. Queremos impulsionar esse projeto, que nasceu dos nossos filhos e que nos inspira diariamente, para que ele se torne cada vez mais estruturado, forte e contínuo, beneficiando quem ensina e quem aprende.

In 2023, our daughter Manuela took an initiative that illuminated our home and, little by little, reached places we never imagined.
Driven by the desire to make a difference, she began teaching English online to children in Brazil and created the project “Brazil with an S”, a bridge that connects bilingual young people to children and teenagers who dream
of learning English.
The gesture was simple: to find people willing to learn and to teach, and to connect them all. An act of sharing knowledge to open paths
and grow together.
Soon, our son Lucas embraced the idea. Then came friends, and friends of friends. In no time, the seed became a forest. Today, the project brings together teachers and students across Brazil and around the world, in weekly meetings that go beyond language learning and blossom into genuine emotional bonds.
Since then, moving stories have touched us deeply. Like Júlia’s, who began teaching at 14 to a girl her own age. For three years now, they’ve met every week through a screen. One has never set foot in Brazil; the other has never left it. Yet both, now 17, have found through these lessons friendship, joy, empathy, courage, and belonging in their connection.
Following these stories, we’ve come to understand something essential: love reveals itself through our actions and movements.
To love is not an abstract idea, it is a gesture, a choice, a presence.
To love others is a real exercise in affirming the value of life, a concrete way of saying: “your existence matters, and I care.”
That is what gives meaning to our time in this world.
That’s why, in this celebration of our 25 years of marriage, we feel that the greatest gift is to sow seeds for the future we wish to live.
We want to strengthen this project, born from our children and inspiring us every day, so that it becomes increasingly structured, solid, and sustainable, benefiting both those who teach and those who learn.
